I've got the books (Abs, Chest, Arms) and have to say they are
very good starting point if you want to develop muscle mass.

They are aimed at a beginner and try to show correct technique,
posture, frame of mind, etc. as much as possible.

I don't really lift weights any more, but these are good reference
books to have.

One last thing is that the books do come with 6 week programs
that are geared towards beginners. These actually work fairly well
if you stick to them.

Another good series in that regard are the Body for Life books where
they provide you with a diet plan and exercise plan to follow for a few
months. Again, aimed at a beginner but a good solid starting point.

Both are excellent. I do 8-12 week cycles of Body for Life a couple of times a year. It is one of the best exercise prescriptions for all around fitness that I have used.

+1 on bfl, great all around plan, though i had some digestion problems w/myoplex.also have some concerns about starting off with 5 sets on a bodypart if you haven't worked out in a while
