Video quality not that good. What I could not understand was why the police did not shoot them. The BG's were basically chasing police around with slashing motions of large knife. It appears there were few hits with knife and that they really just wanted to chase police, but could have killed or seriously injured a number of officers. There was certainly justification and opportunity to shoot them. Yes in crowded area but I saw a couple of times where a shoot to pelvis would have been possible with little danger to bystanders. I really do not think this is typical of knife attacks and that if these guys were serious they could have done a lot more damage. A one point officer turned his back to knife and just walked away. And it seemed to take police a long time to handcuff that one guy.

I may be wrong as the quality of the playback was not great on my computer, but I did not see that the police were armed!

When someone does not want to be cuffed espcially when on drugs and/or alcohol getting them down and cuffed is very difficult.

As long as the pressure is placed on PDs (paticulary large PDs) to have the makeup of their force to reflect the same "ratio" of various ethnic groups as the area they serve (and to be more "sensitive" as well) you are going to have the LCD factor.

Its funny that Gabe mentioned N.P.E./ comm-lib states barring citizens from carrying a firearm for lawful self defense and having a large knife weilding populace. It was today that i was thinking about that!! I grew up in the Bronx... N.P.E. and everyone had a blade. Very true Gabe, knifes suck and we have to deal with them..... i now choose knife and a Gun!!!
