Default MMA Saturday

Saturday night we have a choice of two MMA events. Strikeforce on Showtime has Fedor, Cristiane Santos and a Scott Smith vs Cung Lee rematch on the card. I guess we will find out if Smith just got lucky last time. Spike is going to air a replay of UFC 113.

I'm watching the Strikeforce fights. Good matchups, plus I always enjoy watching Fedor.

I went the HP Pavilion last night and enjoyed every fight. Even Cyborg's one sided victory was inspiring as Finney showed amazing courage.

Fedor made an enormous error by walking into Werdum's A-game. A lesson there on playing to your opponent's weakness. Fedor put Werdum down easily on the standup side.

Fedor is a tough guy, but everyone loses sooner or later. There will probably be a rematch. Verdun asked for a rematch immediately and I am sure Fedor wants another shot at Verdun.

Fedor's match proves that anyone can be defeated.

I'd still like him to match up with the top guys in the UFC, even though he walked right into that submission I just don't see Strikeforce as being top-notch competition.

Fedor made a stupid mistake, trust me he wont do that in the rematch. Fedor almost knocked him out with a few punches. I am wondering how bad fedor wants to hurt that guy right now. I would turn down the rematch if I were that guy.

Next Saturday we will find out who the top HW in UFC is. Lesnar vs Carwin is finally going to happen. No doubt Overeem or Werdum bring more skills than Carwin or Lesnar but both UFC HW have nightmarish power. It could be fun to watch Werdum try to triangle Lesnar. Who knows about Fedor, I would think he has made enough money he just fights because he likes to.
