Question So how bad would this CAI FAL be?

Other than the hideous stock, and the Century team of monkeys building it, how bad would this FAL be?

Roll two dice, from a scale of 0-12, 0 being gun is falling apart and 12 being sub moa and reliable as a sewing machine. All are possible!

I have looked those rifles over, and there are others in use by the instructor cadre. Trim the barrel, add a scope mount and they are good rifles.

Mr. Chambers, could I get your thoughts on what butt stock to put on instead of that SAW monstrosity?

There is generally very little wrong with a Century rifle that can't be fixed, given the right amount of time, money, and expertise. Having said that, I would REALLY like to know whose receiver they are using....THAT is the most significant "point of failure" on an FAL build. That's the one thing you CAN'T fix.

Per a phone call to J&G, it's a Century receiver.

Standard FAL stock, or upgrade to a Para. The abomination on the rifle currently has got to go.

That's why I like to grab the ones that were "Made In Canada" for Century as they used Imbel(Brazil) or FM(Argy) recievers, some marked so and some not. But that "doubt" about the unmarked ones leaves them often lower priced on the used market.
Have you hugged your AK today?

You do realize that you can't get a 0 or 1 on two dice, right?
