    Default FAL Scope

Im thinking about a scope for one of my FALs. Im NOT looking for high magnification or long range precision. Rather Im thinking about something fast perhaps with a bit of magnification; but still reasonable for short range. Im not opposed to RedDots if thats the best. Im also open to conventional optics.

    Currently being considered:
Trilux SUIT I have one and really like it; but the mount needs repair so I havent shot it yet. I know its old technology but it works
Millet DMS I rather like this scope as its true 1x and goes to 4x. Its illuminated and has a quick reticle--and I have one sitting on the shelf.
ACOG I dont have one, and while they are pricey--good optics usually are worth the extra money.
    ???

Im really leaning towards the Trilux at least as a starter scope. Is there any reason I shouldnt?

I've been looking at the Night Force 1-4 power scope. It's illuminated as well. Very nice glass. On a more expensive note the swarovski 1-6 power is also VERY nice but a touch over 2K.

ACOG , inverted chevron reticle. works well with night vision in line, and you are easily good to 600.

Last summer at the GS course in Kingman, there were at least 3 FALs used successfully out to 700. One had a Burris Ballistiplex, I had the ACOG and I can't remember what the other guy had. I ran out of glass somewhere between 800 and 900 , but was still able to get 3 out of 10 with good holdovers at 1000. (Target was standard steel IPSIC type target) No problem being 100% for our standard of headshots out to 100 and torso shots out to 600. My rifle and glass are better than I am. Jefe's instruction on how to do it was key. Doping 30 mph gusts of wind is an art.

    Nice scope Eric
That scope is by far the best 1-4 I've used on the FAL. I'd like to give there 1-10 a whirl when they come down in price.

A Mil-Dot scope with an offset or top mounted red dot. It's been the best solution on my GPR FAL, you don't have to sacrifice your long range game or CQB AND you have two different zeros. My red dot is zero'ed at 25y, the scope at 100y.
