I'm in the same boat, having two sporters based on Mexican Mauser actions in the works. Richards Microfit has a good deal on laminated stocks right now. Microfit is a misnomer, their stocks actually take a bit of work to make fit a barreled action. Boyds is another option. Great American Gunstocks puts out a very nice product, but you need to deal with them over the phone and stay on top of your order. I think Ramline may have produced a stock for the small ring, '93s, '96s and the like, but am uncertain. You can sometimes find very good prices on sporter type stocks on ebay. they'll typically be old Fajens or Bishops. Look at MidwayUSA, I think they have a black synthetic stock at a good price for the common small ring actions. Houge may also have what you want, I know they have a larger ring '98 stock. All the above options would serve for a GSR, if that's your goal.

Avoid the Ramline. The stock is junk. I bought it for a model 96.

I came to AKs from Mausers and have about six in various stages of work. Here is one stock maker that I have found to have some really nice stocks:

I am not sure what you have, but some mexican mausers are small 98's and with properly heat treated steel will do what ever you need if not better than the 03 springfield rifles relative to handling the .308 Winchester or similar pressures. I would be cautious with the 93 and 95 actions with chambering for higher pressure loads due to the lesser heat treatment and the lack of the third locking lug.
