    Default Good Article on Warrior Mindset and Modern Society

    I'm on the mailing list for this blog. One of the current subjects has been on the "archetypes of manhood". They finally arrived to the Warrior archetype and I like the depth. The research has just enough historical examples and references to hold my interest without insulting me with assumptions based on pure speculation. It has me wanting to learn more about the psychological development of men in our modern society (myself being raised by an alcoholic woman, estranged father and a deployed 3rd step-dad).

    Everyone who has an opinion on the definition of manhood will likely come away something other than my perceptions, I believe.

    Carl Jung, was a smart guy, a lot of powerful stuff with Jung. I don't trust him or his teaching though.

    Where was Carl Jung mentioned in the article?

    I really, really like that website. I've gleaned a lot of really good stuff from there.

    The archetypes are based on Jungian psychology. Click on the introduction to the article near the beginning of the article. It will give you the background.

    Im a student of Jung and his not so popular theories.

    Dont discount him, he was a very smart man, and even if you disagree with him, he has some very sound points about what the mind is capable of, and even more about what the collective consciousness effects in all of our lives. Also a very good use of alternative theory on deviant human behavior and other than Freudian solutions. Doesnt work for everyone, but its an option with some Goblins

    Oh, I don't discount him. He was a smart man with seductive, powerful thoughts. However, I can't reconcile his thoughts with Christ no matter how syncretistic Jung was. I think his teachings are very powerful, syncretistic, and demonic.

    I agree, to a certain extent.

    I use his theories to deal with persons who fit his classification of mental illness, and he has it on the ball for those who I unfortunately run into on occasion.

    I dont drink the kool aid, just use it as another tool in the box
