    Default Jim Beam Devil's Cut

Has anyone tried this yet? I love bourbon, but I have never been a huge Jim Beam person.

    You want good bourbon, try:

Woodford Reserve - straight Kentucky gold, best of the breed in my book.

    Knob Creek - also good.

Evan Williams Single Barrel is a noteworthy contender.

Gentleman Jack, though technically Tennessee sour mash, the single barrel version tastes like a good bourbon to me...

I am very much a bourbon man. My tastes definitely run to the 94 proof and higher breeds, which I drink neat or with a couple of cubes when the mood strikes me.

I tried a bottle of the Devil's Cut and will not be buying another. In my AO, my goto bourbon in the $20-ish range is Buffalo Trace...though I infinitely prefer brands that start in the $40's.

We ought to meet up for a sip one night, I prefer Knob Creek as a starting point, but when it can be found
Basil Hayden or Bookers are the go to bourbons. I have yet to even hear of Devil's Cut, and I am a Beam aficionado?

Out of curiousity's sake, why wouldn't you try another? Inquiring minds who are currently unable to get their hands on it would love to know, I heard about it only after leaving the States and was curious to try it when I get back.

I'm so in! Basil, Bookers & Bakers are all long time friends. Ever had any Pappy Van Winkle? Oh buddy...

I found it unnecessarily harsh & spicy, like they were trying to make a point or something. The buddy that finally finished it off drank it with Coke & liked it as a mixer.
