Hey Gaius and ElFed, I hope all is well. I try to stay out of shitcago and Illinois in general, but if you guys cross the border for it I would be interested. I doubt my schedule will allow meyou to make it to Mr. Phillips IA class, but boy would it be worth it for you two to go. If you thought CRG was eye-opening, wait until you're making solid hits at a 21' target with no sights, and the curriculum taught by the man himself!

Appreciate the recommendation. If I can get my schedule to work, i would really like to take that course. I can't speak for Elfed, but "over the border" isn't really all that far away, and I would be happy to meet you guys "half way" so to speak if for nothing better than a great bull session.

Hey Irish, Gaius, what's up? I am already registered for the PSP class in Iowa, can't wait to go. Gaius, hopefully you can make it as well. If our schedules allow, we should plan an SI Alumni gathering sometime, maybe early next year. Or maybe we can convince Mike to run Advanced CRG or 0-5 ft back over at Sand Burr.

Default Close to getting a Defensive Knife class on the schedule!

Just wanted to get the word out that I am close to finalizing a location for a Defensive Knife class in the Chicago area for the weekend of March 24, 2012. SI Instructor John McCreery will be teaching the class which is planned to be held in Arlington Heights, IL which is about 25 miles northwest of Chicago off Interstate I-90. I hope to get things finalized and the class put on the schedule in the next few days.

It's only 3 weeks until John McCreery arrives to teach Defensive Knife in northern Illinois. The location is right off I-90 in Arlington Heights, 25 miles nw of Chicago, so you don't have to step foot in the city unless you want to. Woodfield Mall (with Legoland / Gameworks) is 10 min way in Schaumburg if the wife/family need something to keep them busy. Let's try to get good turnout for what will hopefully be one of many SI courses to come to the Illinois area in the future.

Did anything come of the Dixon-area range? We really need some SI action in northern IL!

I need to do some follow up with them. Or you could contact them and play host. I'm sure one of us would gladly come over for you. It's not hard.

I called the "Inquiries" contact this morning and caught the gentleman on the road. He said he'd never been contacted regarding SI training before, and that the man to talk to was the club president. He suggested that I wait until this evening to call him.

John, Greg or Mike, other than the link above, is there anything I need to be particularly mindful of when discussing this opportunity w/ the president?
