Flagging a post can be backuped with context and back story easily if done in this manner. The explanation of the flagged post can be laid out so that the moderators have some information to work with. Coming out with the pertinent information of the back story after the fact does not make any sense whatsoever when options like these are available.
Flagging without context can go nowhere if the back story is not laid out.

I flagged a post and I put the link to this thread in as my reason. This means that I can explain myself to the best of my abilities, with all of the pertinent facts, and without being limited on space.
It is absolutely unacceptable to blame the moderators for your bad behavior when tools such as this are available to you.
The defintion of the word moderator requires us to work slow and methodical. We can not be ruled by emotion. We need to know the facts. Most things are cut and dry. But if there is a back story that we do not know about.......then help us do our jobs. Do not by pass us and do our jobs for us. You are not a moderator! You have not been informed on how Gabe wants his forum run.
If you handle it wrong you will be seen as the problem.
There is right and there is wrong! But without the pertinent information and facts then the correct solution may not be found. The moment that you take up the moderators job as being your job is the moment that you are definitely wrong.
Moderation requires time, information, and the ability to keep emotion out of the equation. If you get emotional and move too fast, you will be seen as the problem. Correct moderation requires much more than "being right" it requires proving that you are right.
