The anal in me is coming out as I anticipate going to the range for the first time with a rifle I don't even have yet. Here are a few question:

The table in Gabe's original post refers to yards, not meters. Every range I know of in the Houston area has targets measured off in yards but I suspect the AK's rear sight is gauged in meters. Do I care about that? Should I try to find a range that measures in meters? AM I crazy?

Multiply yards by 0.9375; that will give you meters, if it means that much to you. Within the Insurgent Rifle engagement envelope, I am not sure that it will make that much difference.

As I think about it, adjustment to the front sight should take the difference into account. Whatever the rear sight graduations are measured in, if I can get hits at longer rangers, it shouldn't matter, at lease I don't think it would.

The rear notches are just a gage, if you are changing ammo your poi is going to change. Gabes data is a battle zero, for mom hits out to 200 yards with no adjustment.

110 yds is roughly 100 meters. Whichever you use, it is likely to make no noticible difference as we seldom ever shoot past 300 yds with an AK if that. I zeroed my .223 to print 2" high at 100 yds, and don't usually have to apply any holdover/under when shooting coyotes.

    Good luck!
