Deputy Mayor / Garrison Commander
Serves as Deputy Mayor or Deputy Garrison Commander at one of 25 bases located throughout Iraq. Partners with the Garrison Commander/Mayor in managing, leading, controlling, directing and providing technical guidance to develop, coordinate and execute complex plans, schedules, policies and procedures required to support the sustainment of base operations and to plan and accomplish the military draw-down of U.S. Forces in Iraq. Identifies funding, manpower, supplies, facilities and services requirements as needed. Directs planning and implementation activities and actions to ensure compliance with metrics, schedules and plans. Scope of authority covers one or more large installations/region. This position requires specialized experience in garrison/ base operations support, to include, but not limited to logistics, facility management, safety, resource management, personnel management and contractor officer responsibilities for potentially several large contracts. Must have completed the COR/COTR course or complete the course within 10 days of arrival.
Director of Logistics
Serves as a Staff Functional Logistics Specialist, at one of one of 25 bases located throughout Iraq. Develops, coordinates and executes logistics projects and aspects of complex plans, schedules policies and procedures required to support the sustainment of base operations and the military draw-down of U.S. Forces in Iraq. Accomplishment of assignments requires a broad knowledge of all functional elements of logistics, logistics organizations and support activities along with the ability to integrate these separate elements into cohesive comprehensive planning actions and the skill to successfully direct the work of cross-functional teams. Scope of authority covers one or more large installations/region. Must have completed the COR/COTR course or complete the course within 10 days of arrival. Assists in developing base closure or base return plans to facilitate the responsible drawdown of forces from Iraq. Works closely with other agencies, teams and organizations to synchronize all actions and tasks to support base closure or return to Government of Iraq. Must have completed the COR/COTR course or complete the course within 10 days of arrival.
Director of Public Works
Serves as a Staff Public Works Operations Specialist, at one of 25 bases located throughout Iraq. Develops, coordinates and executes public works projects and aspects of complex plans, schedules policies and procedures required to support the military draw-down of U.S. Forces in Iraq. Accomplishment of assignments requires a broad knowledge of all functional elements of public works operations, organizations and support activities along with the ability to integrate these separate elements into cohesive comprehensive planning actions and the skill to successfully direct the work of cross-functional teams. Scope of authority covers one or more large installations/region. Engineering skills are not required. Must have completed the COR/COTR course or complete the course within 10 days of arrival.
Safety Officer
Serves as the Safety and Occupational Health Manager, at one of 25 bases located throughout Iraq. As senior advisor/consultant to the Garrison Commander/Mayor has full responsibility for planning, administering and evaluating a comprehensive Safety Program and serves as principal Safety and Occupational Health Advisor to USF-I leadership and program managers for the assigned AOR. Utilizing expert Safety and Occupational Health knowledge and expertise, analyzes and resolves diverse, high safety risk hazards in support of the military draw-down of U.S. Forces in Iraq . Program elements include the formulation of safety and occupational health directives, prevention and control of mishaps, promotion of safety education and implementation and oversight of a mishap reporting system. The program encompasses all deployed Regular Army, Reserve, National Guard Units, DA Civilians, Partnership Organizations, Contractors, Foreign Nationals and Third World National employees. The manager conducts safety inspections assessing the effectiveness of the safety and occupational health program to identify strengths and weaknesses, and develop methods and techniques to improve operational and systemic deficiencies. Scope of authority covers one or more large installations/region. Must have completed the COR/COTR course or complete the course within 10 days of arrival.
