    Default Childrens Martial Arts Instructor

South of Atlanta, north of Macon Georgia

Our school is looking for someone to come in on Monday afternoon's and teach elementary age boys martial arts (needs to be certified as an instructor and we have no preferred MA discipline). If you are in the Atlanta area or Macon Georgia area and are interested please PM me. If Sonny P. or Tom Sotis say you are good to go and that is the only certification you have, that is okay with me.

I am not a candidate for the job, only passing along info regarding MA for kids that age.

A few years ago I taught my college age nephew an MA move for situations dealing with a bully or someone who held a size advantage on him. He in turn taught it to one of his middle school nephews who was having bully problems. The next time the bully approached the youngster faked submission for about a second (part of the program) to get the bully into the right mindset. He quickly had the bully by the throat, dropped him to the ground with his hand still firmly grasping the bully's throat and his knee landing hard in the bigger kid's gut, and with his weight directly over his "throat hand," started to choke him out. He got pulled off right after that (the completion of the sequence is letting the bully try to remove your hand from his throat by grasping your wrist, then peeling back the thumb on his right hand and breaking it) but he had no more bully problems. The entire sequence took less than ten seconds.
“Out of every one hundred men, ten shouldn't even be there, eighty are just targets, nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the one, one is a warrior, and he will bring the others back.” ― Heraclitus

The Spartans never asked how many of the enemy there were, only where they could find them.

    Cliff,

Thanks for the post. I thought there would be some WT members who live in the Atlanta area that might be a fit for this but so far no one has responded. These kids need something along these lines just to help build confidence and discipline as well as burn up energy. It should be fun as well. Anyway, we may have to go to area MA schools and find someone. I was just hoping someone with the WT mindset might be available.

Although I teach adult martial arts currently, I tried several times to teach our kids classes. Man what a challenge!!! It takes a certain type of blessed individual to have the patience to teach children. Not just anyone can do it and do it well.
We were lucky at our school to find such a gifted instructor. He's really just a grown up "kid" at heart himself, and kids love him and respect him.
Good luck with your search. That 'right' person is out there for your school.
