KA4GSR General since 1979. I did have an HF rig in the truck until someone decided they needed it more than me. I am considering getting another rig at this time...

There was not a particular goal in mind other than uniting fellow ham radio/WT members throughout CONUS.

Contact with each other during travel perhaps or in time of emergency.

If anyone has interest in setting up a net that might also be a possibility.

    Any other ideas are welcome.

26 Hams on WT so far as I know. I suspect there are more. :)

An educated inferrence can be drawn from some of the answers to questions on threads in the Combat Communications section.

Exactly! I searched the commo threads and only found one or two that didn't post here. I keep a running list of call signs of people that I've come in contact with or I have seen post on WT. I've got a total of 26 call signs. I keep the list because I'm a bit of a Ham nut so if I am ever in the area I'll try to CQ them. I think it's good to have contacts with the WT mindset.

I understand the privacy paranoia. Nowadays it's not really paranoid. Someone on a local hamnet pointed out that anyone can buy a scanner at Radio Shack and hear your call sign and do a QRZ search for your info. If you're concerned about privacy, I'm sure Mrs. Coplin would appreciate a PM with your call sign. WT and Ham are two of my favorite mindsets.
