Gents,
Remember that just because you can play a John Kerry tune (flip-flop_ on the AR-15 safety does not mean it is necesary or even correct.
The initial disengagement of the safety can be done JUST AS FAST as with the AR, but the AK safety is left OFF during the fight and immediately after the fight.
That is how the weapon was intended for use and how those who have carried it have worked it. This American obsession with a weapon safety is just that...an obsession.

I think it's actually a subculture now. The government is obsessed with "safety" since it generates so much power and money. All this tickles down into the general population as cash is spread around and people start believing the propaganda. This American obsession with a weapon safety is just that...an obsession.
Back on topic: don't go clicking the safety on and off as you clear a building. You give yourself away.
"6). Learn trigger reset. Do this dry at first and then make a habitual live fire method. Press the trigger, hold it back while you run the bolt (in dry fire mode), then slowly release it forward until you feel and hear the rifle reset, then press again. Continue with this until it is reflexive. Repeat it live fire."

What is the rational behind this method?
I guess I'm anyone.
Good trigger reset does a couple of things. Most importantly, it helps ensure you're not slapping the trigger on subsequent shots. Your finger doesn't come off the trigger and have to find it again, it's already right there. It also encourages good follow through, so that your gun stays pointed at the target as it is discharged, and it can help increase your rate of fire, since you don't have to move your finger as much if you don't let the trigger out all the way.
In IDPA pistol shooting this is called the "trigger bump" It decreases your split times (the times between shots) and increases your accuracy. The weapon isn't being moved as much and your sights stay on the target.
Surivial is just an unplanned adventure if you are prepared
