The DAK was my first LE duty weapon and with a lot of practice they can be usable.

Glad to see the 229 back in vogue. I loved the simplicity and usefulness of a double action semi-auto. While the Glock 21 may be my bedside gun, the 229 could be safely under a pillow if desired. Definitely my first choice if I’m unable to use a holster (for reasons…)

The used one I bought over a month ago (timing is everything) was amazingly rough and gritty, to the point that the decision to convert instead of refurbish was easy.

I will say that the weapon never malfunctioned. Definitely an odd trigger with an odd reset. I carried it until I had a choice. I had no real choice other than to learn to use it well my first handful of years.
