Seems to fill the same niche as the FP-45 Liberator.

Is the extractor your fingernails, or a small stick?

Both possibly. With the 15 to 20 rounds I have put through it so far, it was easy to unload a fingernail. A knife (we all carry one, right?) would probably work great to pry out, or a stick down the barrel.

I think things like this are neat simply because. Yeah, it ain't an EDC, but it could have its uses otherwise. And hey, why not? Personally, I think things like this are kinda clever, purely as a matter of human creativity. After all, it does have a simple elegance to its operation, so long as one doesn't try to ask more of it than it can deliver. Not going to do 100-yard body shots, sure, but that's not its niche/role/envelope (h/t to Greg). I like it. It'd be fun to fool around with.

Never underestimate the effects of a well placed .22. It appears it could be really useful in certain situations. Now if you could build a pop off cell phone look alike cover to disguise it.

Yup. If you get up close and personal with a .22 it will do about anything that needs doing. I've dispatched a fair number of bovines over the years and their skulls are much thicker than ours. Here's a vintage post on cow killing I put up a few years ago.
