I have about 4 years on Arlo cameras, they have worked well. They now have some that go cell vs WiFi, although I have not tried them. I feel they make good stuff.
If you have power and wifi where the camera will go it is hard to beat the Wyze cams at $20. I use them all around our house and shop.
PS. make sure you try them at night WITHOUT the night mode. The regular color mode is so sensitive that unless you are way away from any light pollution you get better video without the night mode.

If you choose wifi cameras put them on a separate wifi network from your home computers. All of these cameras are a huge security risk.

Yep, and there are a few other homebrew options - different panels, outdoor enclosures etc that have been shared in the wild.

Try to replace hardware with technique. Technique is free, lightweight, and cannot be lost.
