Default And you think your fighting knife is special...

Take a look at what a Pharaoh had. King Tut's knife...non-rusting iron from a meteorite.

Excellent! This ancient blade sort of resembles a 'Fairbairn' design, if such was adorned with gold.

I recently watched a documentary on his tomb and that specific knife. It’s truly interesting from the perspective of how special it must have truly been in their time and age to have come from the heavens.

That was my impression as well. Some blade designs are timeless because they work exactly as they were intended.

The Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife (dagger) was designed to poke hole is people's soft spots and slice their meaty parts. It wasn't designed to be a general purpose field knife as was the Kabar.

This knife serves as an excellent example of the fact that there is nothing new under the sun. Killing blades are nothing new when it comes to *daggers* and killing blades. What an awesome knife to possess if one could.

Speaking of which, I'm looking for a decent-quality modern replica F-S for the, uh, reference collection.

    Suggestions, anyone?
