Ask yourself a question to determine whether that question gets you closer to an answer other than Sua Sponte's (assuming solely for the sake of discussion that you need a different answer)—what difference in LENGTH of the firearm does switching hands make?

Pull out a long gun to test it.

Shorter rifles are easier. Shorter stocks are easier. But you fight with what you brought.

Practice changing shoulders and moving through your home. You will figure out what you need to do.

I get it. I'm just checking other variables. Clearing a room and weapons retention are different skills.

Referring to retention not shoulder change, specifically one-handed with an AR pistol.

Let me ask the question differently. Under what circumstances would you plan to find yourself one handing a long gun?

Kid in the arms? You shouldnt be clearing a house.

Opening a door? Under arm short stock

Retention under condition one or two is lead in direction of threat.

Since we're doing the research, will we get a writer's credit for the screenplay?

The latter. I figured under arm short stock, but can you retain control of the barrel as easily as with a sidearm?

It's not researching for the individual who already has the knowledge. Will quoting you do?

I'd be impressed if they even know WT exists or SI.
