Just a thought, can anyone out there shorten them? I bet there are people out there that still customize revolvers.

Will an original barrel fit the New Python? I'd like another snub and a new "true" 4".

Don't know if the threads match. Couldn't find a 2.5" barrel this morning online, and the 4" are $350 and up.

Yeah, they're pricey, but $400 for the barrel and then the gunsmithing is probably still cheaper than a vintage 2.5".

My favorite wheelie is a no-dash 686. Itís got the finest trigger Iíve ever felt on any handgun, and I managed to do that myself. (The lesson there is that sometimes patience beats skill. I took my time and it worked out wonderfully.) I donít shoot it much, but it sure is fun. Itís a great gun with which to start new shooters, but Iíll only pull it out for someone that I really like.

My wife's 586 no dash is even smoother than her 1968 Python. We bought it used and it was great from the get go. Believe it or not, I also got a Ruger Speed Six as good as the 586, and I did that trigger job myself 30+ years ago so my mother could use it. That's a handy little sonofabitch.

Way to go John, nice looking for 25 yards, I tried the old PPC 50 yard course 3 days ago, with a 6" 28, eyes just don't adjust any more even had the old Merit eye cup on the glasses

I am really tempted to obtain an older 4" M19. I did some pretty good shooting with that model. My old eyes won't do that well now, but it is a temptation none the less.
