I also want to add, the scabbard is original, the owners uncle decided to hit it with a wire wheel or something and cleaned of the patina.

The grip looks to be real stingray hide so I don't think the pommel is a replica

I am pretty sure your right, I looked up standard issue swords from that time and they had a different pommel but similar grips. It’s almost like it’s an officers sword, but it has no numbers on it. It looks old and real it’s just in good shape.

I will research that crest, maybe that will be where my answer is. I found a descriptive site on swords from the Americas and there were a lot more variations that I could ever imagine. I need to find another site like that for eu.
