Don't get impatient, give it time to heal.
Do your therapy and a bit more, but don't go way overboard.
Ask your therapist about a good TENS unit.

Thanks. This is kinda guerrilla therapy. I can' t sit still.

Had enough of the oxy. Cutting it out, going with Tylenol and antiinflams only. Can't do anything useful on opioids.

Oxy’s are a no go for me. Other then making me sick, most never stop doing them. Fuck that shit, I’ve lost two very close people to me to opioids....

Things to learn before surgery that disables one hand:

    Brushing your teeth

    Loading magazines

    Tying laces

    Running your firearms

    Typing

    All with support hand only.

Human beings aren’t the top of the food chain because we’re just so clever. We’re there because deep inside we are the most homicidal animal on the planet, and sometimes that animal isn’t buried all that deep.

    Always entertaining, mildly offensive
IANative: Indeed, when you grab Brent (or he grabs you), it feels like liquid unobtanium wrapped in rawhide... whereas Greg is just solid muscle wrapped in hate, seasoned w/ snuff and a little lead.

Good thing about recovery time, you have extra time to practice all those things.

But yes, all good things to learn ahead of time.

Years ago, my brother had an injury that took his primary hand out of commission for a long time. His left hand dexterity and strength improved an incredible amount, by necessity. Years later, his right hand still has more dexterity but left still significantly stronger.

One of the things I did practice, or is that TMI?

Hell yeah, way to get after it. After my ulnar nerve transposition surgery, I remember being in the physical therapy office struggling to curl a 1 lb dumbbell. You'll get there; it'll just take work and some time. Like Brent said, use any extra time to work on your off-hand pistol and fighting skills.
