That's what I thought. But when I offered to bulk up pre-op the doc told me it's actually easier to do the procedure with less muscle mass.

    WTF, right?

Yesterday the sling came off, except for occasions when there's a risk I might endanger the shoulder--and as a reminder not to.

It came off because it caused an inflammation of wrist and forearm that in turn caused a nifty little spike of pain with each heartbeat. Name the crime, I'd have confessed. Damn right I killed Kennedy. What of it?

I could not rotate the wrist or even touch it. Didn't stop the doc, who on watching my reactions, said: "Don't punch me." And I said, "Just put me in a case study." She said she'd never seen anything like it.

But today, after icing all night with the "Iceman," a Meloxicam and some Tylenol, I have ten degrees of rotation, no continuous pain, i was able to straighten my arm down at my side, and I'm wearing a sleeve on my arm for the first time.

Sorry to ramble. Here are my numbers so far for today:

    1. Left hand curls, 10 # dumbbell, 16 reps
    2. Right hand curls, no weight, 16 reps

    Watch out, Eric!

P.S.: Congrats to whomever scored the CZs yesterday. I was at the doc's or traveling and they were gone by the time I got to a full screen.

Good for you brother. Take it slow...we have all been there. A year later you will be glad you had the repair...right now, not so much.

Damn that's a hell of a recovery! My arm was in a sling for 6 weeks, no exceptions and then no weights period for 6 months. I just got started back Monday (and already past Tull)...lol
