Very nice set up. Where’s the treadmill for the dog?

Thanks all, happy with it. The dog loves to come hang out but the walk from the house to the gym is about all the exercise he is interested in!

I noticed that your four legged training partner has already settled in, claiming his/her spot.

Cindy was my training partner at two homes before she passed. Also laying quietly on her spot but trotting now and again for a pat on the head during the minute rest between rest.

We would then share my post workout cup of coffee which usually ended up with 70% of the cup in her bowl.

May you have many hours of enjoyable training, turning the space into a place where impossible goals are set and then reached.

    Cheers

Nice--I think you have all the equipment I want except for a reverse hyper.

Have you tried doing shoulder presses with the hex/trap bar? Any thoughts? I'm exploring options for dealing with the problem of the face being in the way of a straight bar.

Dumbbells or KBs are probably the safer option. I do those, but also a bunch of barbell press. Just Pez-dispenser your head out of the way on the way up.

I was actually thinking about an open trap bar like this one:

I'm curious why you think there's a safety issue compared to a straight bar?

That's a cool trap bar, and it's rackable, which is nice if you want to get it overhead. I'm just a bit leery of bailing out of a failed lift if something goes haywire and you need to get out from under the bar, especially off the back, but the open side could help mitigate that.
