    Default Keeping subsonics subsonic

Hello, trying to find some experienced information on subsonic 9mm Ammo. I recently got my stamp on a Silencerco Hybrid (waiting on the Octane 9k still) and am having great success running Speer Law Man 147gr TMJ through my TSD RDP. Listed velocity is 985fps for pistol but it goes sonic out of a Colt 6951 16. I have read up on the Israelie 158gr but cannot find info for longer barrels. I was curious if anyone has ran these suppressed out of a 16 barrel. Elevation is about 2400. No one close to me has a chrono fwiw. Thanks ahead of time for your time and knowledge. Any other ammo suggestions are welcome.

The longer barrel is most likely what is doing it. A 16" barrel will typically add 2-300 fps to 9mm. If the ammo itself is warm from the sun or heat in general too it will speed it up some too. It could be possible that its getting fast enough to go trans sonic too. While bullet might not be super sonic the air moving over the round is.

Also considering either(both) a Ruger American Ranch in .300 or the Marlin Dark in 45-70. I just love the brute force the 500gr subsonic delivers onto unsuspecting critters.
