I can’t take credit for the idea. I stumbled across a thread on another forum where the poster stated the newer MCS forend was designed specifically to accommodate two Photon Microlights, I assume for illumination while breaching. So since I’ve been searching for a less cumbersome lighting solution than what is typically put on a shotgun, I immediately hunted down one of these forends (not a simple task; I discovered Remington won’t sell them to us lowly Civi’s, and even many L.E. Dealers have trouble getting them. Go figure.) and a pair of the aforementioned lights. The shorter action bar assembly came with the forend, and I happened to have a couple screws that fit perfectly, and here we are. I think this setup is actually a bit lighter than the Hogue or Magpul forends I have. And if you still prefer the Magpul forend, I found that it’s easy enough to bolt the Photons to the M-Lok slots with the right hardware. As for me, I think I’m going to stick with the MCS assembly. It’s light, grippy even while wet, and comfortable.
