The rear stock on number one does not appear to be arm brace. Is there an NFA issue with it on a pistol?

Can a pistol have a barrel equal to or longer than 16"?
What if the firearm starts as AOW from the FFL (i.e. stripped lower)?

There is no reason that anyone should complicate things. The more you muddy things up, the more boy-scout letter will be sent asking mother-may-I. So.....

Why in God's grace would you do that or would anyone do that?

Again...why complicate things. Something starts as something...it is that for ever. Starts as a pistol, leave it that way. If you turn it into a rifle it can't be a pistol again. Some for anything NFA...once it is...it is always. We have lower receivers selling for less than a hundred bucks. Want a new "something"? Buy a receiver and build it from scratch.

Well I can tell you what my ban state considers legal.......

    1) Legal non NFA "other" if barrel is 12.5 or more, has OAL of more than 26in., and was built from a virgin receiver by an FFL07. (A recent newspaper article has put these on gun grabbers radar. Wouldn't be surprised if the AW ban gets amended.)
    2) Legal only if it's pre ban. (Sept./1994)
    3) Legal only if it's pre ban. (Sept./1994)
    4) Completely Illegal go directly to jail.
