    Default Glock 43X / 48 15 Round Flush-Fit Magazine

If this (A) actually is released and (B) actually works, it would be a neat thing.

A 43X with a street comp might make you 9mm people very, very happy.

I'm looking forward to this. I'm rocking my G48 and just bought 10 magazines when my LGS finally got some. That said, I also just saw my first P365 15 round mag. It's very cool. Seems like Glock and Sig are in a real arms race and it's exciting.

When I mentioned this to my LGS manager, he said he heard there might be some kind of legal cease and desist action from Glock. We'll see.

That would be odd. They would have to go
    after Magpul & ETS, too.

I would want to test this extensively. A magazine extension and new spring is easy to make reliable. Changing out springs and followers, and keeping original length, not so much.

    My prediction:

There Ain’t No Such Thing As A Free Lunch.

I’m guessing they are sacrificing reliability or durability (or both) for the gains.

    I hope I’m wrong though...

Indeed, there is no free lunch.

The G43X is a very viable gun for those times when something slimmer than a G19 is needed. I was originally underwhelmed by the idea of the 43X but after handling one done up with Shopmonkey magic, and shooting it with the comp, I'm a believer. However, it is still a compromise gun and will not be displacing the G19 any time soon.

The 15 round mag may work without issues - if so that is great. But I'm skeptical it will be as reliable packing that many rounds in the same size mag. If I get a 43X I'll certainly test it...but it will be on the "don't trust 100%" list until I've put many rounds through it.

But even if it works without fail, you still don't have the compatibility with larger mag sizes (G17 mags, extended mags, happy sticks etc.)

I see the G43x and G48 as supplements to the G19/17, not replacements.

A steel magazine would certainly have more capacity than a plastic one. But, 50% seems a stretch.

I would think a steel mag release would be nessessary also.

Regardless, the Glock / SIG war is good for the consumer.
