    This might be the solution to a project I have in the works.

    Have you considered affixing the rear sight to the receiver rather than the barrel? Would probably have to be in front of an RMR mount, I doubt there is room behind it.

    A different mount might be fashioned that includes both RMR and rear sight but I'm sure that complicates things more than we want.

    Oh, heck yes. Enfields, Garands, M1 carbines, M4s and a slew of other .mil weapons have similar front sights and wings. And the rear is familiar to anyone who learned to shoot before every sporting arm wore a scope.
