If the X3 is ever released from dealer shop hell, so that it can either be sold or shot, we'll need a replacement for the XO's daily commute: a reasonably priced SUV with AWD, mileage in the mid-20s to low 30s, decent performance and cargo space, and the legs (and comfort) for an extended road trip.

F*** anything European. And I already have a largish US SUV and a full-sized US crew cab pickup which are more than satisfactory.

Any love for the Hyundai Tucson? Any other suggestions?

No tiny cars please. I gotta drive this thing, too.

My mom's Honda Pilot is the bee's knees, for efficiency, space, driveability, and handling. If I had to drive an SUV, I could live with one of those.

LOVE my 2020 Kia Sorento EX which followed up my 2105 Sorent EX. It's the twin of the Hyundai Sante Fe. The smaller Hyundai Tuscon is the twin of the Kia Sportage. All great vehicles.

I suggest the 2019 & later Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk with the 3.2 V6. Comfortable, capable, & decent enough fuel economy, given what it is. Trailhawk gets upgraded suspension, protection plates, dual range transfer case, & locking rear diff, among other things.

Added a new to me 2003 Jeep Wrangler to the stable a few weeks ago. When I was in CA back in May for a funeral and gun run I saw that my mom still had her '03 TJ thats been sitting since she bought a newer Rubicon back around 2010/2011. So she offered it to me at a good price and and started making plans to get the service up to date and take the time off for another road trip. Finally got things in play and headed for San Diego on July 7th to visit family, friends, and pick up my new ride. Had a great time, enjoyed lots of good mexican food, and had a great road trip through CA, NV, OR, and WA... And of course I was rolling dirty in CA.

2003 Jeep Wrangler TJ, 2.4L, 5spd 4WD, with about 194k on it after getting it home. Had a 2.5" lift put on it before picking it up, as well as a fresh timing belt, oil change, and I think just about all the fluids changed. Since getting it home I have given it a good scrub down inside and out, removed the carpet, seats, and interior for additional scrubbing, replaced the top/door skins, and started ordering tons of used parts off eBay for the things that are to far past a good cleaning.

I'll have to post pictures later.

I have a 70 bronco. It has been sitting for over a year as I went to replace the headers because they were leaking where they met the pipes and nothing I did would seal them up. The company that I wanted headers from finally is getting them ordered. It is a small mom and pop shop and their vender raised the min order since the headers are custom. I should have headers in a month.

currently have a 2012 F350 diesel, but will be selling or trading it soon. We had been looking at truck campers for a while and finally decided to order a dually so that it carried the weight better. Ordered the dually F-350 with a whole bunch of doodads in the beginning of Feb. They just started building it this week Sept 26th. Couple things I am really looking forward to are the adaptive cruise control and the camera system.

The camper we bought the end of Feb.

Its the ACC and tech stuff that is holding up the final assembly. Lots of folks i know have been getting calls from Ford saying they could speed up delivery dates if they accepted fewer options on the order (possibly to be updated as computers came in). This was over the last 6 months or so, perhaps they are catching up now.

Nothing beats the old bobcat bronco IMHO...

Yeah I agree with you about the chips.

Knowledge, Yeah I do like my classic bronco and it will be nice to have it running again.
