Any recommendations for an electric ATV? Just started researching. I need 4WD and enough power and clearance for moderately rough trails, but don't need or want a sidebyside, just the ability to carry a chainsaw, hatchet, shovel and a couple of long guns.

And it needs to be vewy, vewy quiet.

I need something quiet to deal with predators and thieves. Looking at these online:

The nearest dealer is a couple hours from me and does not have the 4x4 model in stock yet. As soon as they do I am going to go take a look.

Well Bullfrog 1 led me to bullfrog v2 the f250 I posted earlier. Did everything I could to make it an Excursion, with a passthrough to the bedcap, camping system, electric cooler, all I could think of.

Then Truck prices for lendable trucks went crazy (those with low enough age and mileage). For shits and grins I filed and got a few offers for my truck. HOLY SMOKES! So when you are offering me a few thousand more than I paid for it new, Im going to sell. So sell I did!

With the additional funds from the sale, (and the recoup of funds already paid against the loan balance) I figured I would go to the source and find an Excursion. I didnt want the 5.4 v8 or the 6.0 powerstroke so that left the 7.3 powerstroke or the 6.8 v10. Looking around a 1000 mile area couldnt find a 7.3 with under 260k miles and under 15K dollars (those things are holding their value), But a lot of searching (and getting screwed on a 02 v10 with 80k miles) finally led me to this one....Bullfrog 3.0 .

2001 excursion v10 4x4 , spent the first 10 months of its life in Connecticut and the remainder in El Paso. No rust, the prior owner had all service and repairs done at the stealership, and it looks like they took him for everything but blinker fluid. So my next build starts. Electric cooler in place of the center console, pull out third row seats, and 60% of second row (empty nester) , build a sleeping platform, scavenge as much of drawer system as possible from 2.0 build, add solar to the hood, and the new war wagon is progressing nicely.

Nice to start out with more room than you need!!! With the sleeping platform I can stretch my arms over my head and not hit the conventional cooler at the rear doors (Im 6'3" for reference)

I still have to have our k9 unit run the dogs over it given the amount of time it spent in El Paso and the natural voids that exist in this platform. I also expect to be singled out for additional screening any time I come back from my place in Terlingua.
