    Default S&W 500 red dot??

My buddy wants to kill a bear with his 500, what red dot will handle the recoil? Rmr, micro aimpoint, what do you think his best option is.

If it works out it will make for one hell of a commercial.

How many follow up shots is he considering? Trijicon has a pretty good warranty and the lower mass of the RMR would likely handle it better than the micro.

By now there should be some accumulated knowledge of what optical sights can survive that recoil. I would go to some forum where people regularly shoot 500 pistols and see how they are scoped. I assume they are often used for hunting and so somebody out there should be putting scopes and red dots on them.
