We're not really discussing ProMag as a viable option, are we? Admittedly, my last personal experience with them was in the late 90's when even USED mags for my 226 were $60 and I thought the ProMags might make decent 'beaters' for training...they were virtually unusable then. Has something changed?

Big Green bought Para Ord a few years back, and if you're patient with a website that appears designed to hide their more interesting handguns, you will find a "Recon Commander" in 9mm that holds 18 + 1, has a rail and ambi safeties. I'd lose the beavertail, cut the safeties down to 1911/1911A1 profile, pin the grip safety, install appropriate night sights and a roundholed Commander hammer and, eventually, an RMR.

And install a short trigger with no holes in it. Ouch.

I don’t think anything has changed, they have probably gotten worse...

Might need to fondle one... Been contemplating building one, perhaps a double stack, but getting a RMR ready slide is tough, except for Caspian options.
