Got to the range today and zeroed. My M14 shot well before and it shoot very well now. I was shooting off a half filled range bag that wiggled and was getting 3/4 and 1 inch groups with 168 bthp hand loads at 100. Next trip will be to the high power range for some distance. Later tonight or something I will start a new thread about my thoughts.

DF, I’m going to upgrade to a Sadlak NM guide rod, and switch the crush washer set up to shims. I had good improvements with that on a SOCOM. I just wondered if you were running the Sage crush washer and the standard guide rod.

I have been running the Sadlak NM guide rod for a long time. Smoothed things out nicely. Pretty sure I have their piston too. I have the crush washer on their now but I have been thinking about the shims too. Not sure yet.

Roger, thanks. FWIW, I found the crush washer to be loose enough to spin after a couple hundred rounds. That’s why I’m considering a shim pack.
