'Daddy, I'm hurt': 6-year-old girl shot while family waits at McDonald's drive-thru

HOUSTON A 6-year-old Texas girl is recovering at the hospital after being shot as her family waited in a McDonald's drive-thru.
According to KTRK, Claire Tidwell was struck in her leg by a security guard's stray bullet. Houston police say the guard opened fire on a theft suspect outside a T-Mobile store, where the suspect was trying to steal a cell phone.

Wonder if the security guard was employed by T-Mobile?

If you mean was the security company contracted by T-Mobile, then Id say yeah most likely. Does that make T-Mobile responsible? Im guessing not but they have deep pockets for a law suit. Now the question is was it a "good shoot" with an unintended outcome or just a security guard that jumped to a gun when he should have just waved bye to the thief?

So, what's a cell phone cost to make? How much profit on each unit?

Not a robbery, nor a bomb being triggered.

If the suspect was not a physical threat to the customers or security guard, (such as using a gun or knife towards them), how could using deadly force be justified for shoplifting or property loss?

I think the guard would be prosecuted for attempted manslaughter as well as hitting a bystander, (whatever that legal term is).

    Sounds like another Zimmerman...

I also see a family that’s about to get an all-expenses paid vacation to the Caribbean courtesy of T-Mobile for starters.

He fired 10 shots at a thief who was running away while stealing a freakin' cell phone!

That is most definitely unjustified reckless endangerment!

    - If that was my daughter, I would make damned sure that he spend some serious time in prison and would sue him for everything he's got, to make sure he can never again have any money to buy a firearm.
