Consider that the actual firing of a shot is a very small part of the process of winning a gunfight. Yet for most, it involved 99% of their time spent. And the environment where that bulk of time is spent is so limiting that, regardless of its design, cleverness of its target systems, or implementation, it can never emulate an actual gunfight. Moreover, techniques and concepts developed specifically to function within the limits of that clinical and limited environment are never optimal for the street.

It is like adjusting all of your time spent in skill development on only speed bag training, and ignoring everything else. A fighter trained like that may think he is doing the right thing, specially if all the others he is exposed to are doing the same, but he will not win his fight specifically because he has ignored all the other more important factors.

So are you training to win your fight, or just to be good at hitting a bag?
