Boot to the face works well.

I don't advocate lots of head kicks but they certainly work when timing and circumstances fit.

A few months ago I was in a training class with people I hadn't worked with before. One guy I was paired with was a big Jujutsu dude...over a head taller than me, strong, and skilled. We ended up clinching a lot, both of us good at intercepting the other guy's attacks.

I was happy considering he had 100 pounds on me and wasn't able to break my posture, but not happy because I was challenged to get a significant shot in. I created some space, and with our arms still locked together fired a good front kick straight to his face. It worked well.

Not my first choice, but having the ability to kick high is better than not having it.

Between freshman and sophomore years of college, the only summer job I could get was selling encyclopedia door to door! Long story made short - attempted mugging. Well - at that time I was training TKD so was into high kicks. It was a most wonderful sound when a wingtip met a bunch of front teeth!!! The associated KO was almost anticlimactic:)

    way more applicable to me

**video is in the third post on the link. Miguel Torres gets his knee folded backwards by a teep or oblique type kick. Maybe someone can find a hotter link? My point was the low front kick to the knee is a better option than head kicks for me. Assuming the footage is gone, this was a K1 style match and Torres opponent threw the same front kick to the knee you see in MMA except committed to it with full body weight vs a check. Torres was completely incapacitated and had extensive knee damage
