Default Houston PD and the red dot sight

It looks like Houston PD has approved red dot sights for duty use.

    https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/...ed-dot-sights/

The requirement for non-milled slides, ie. must be factory red dot ready, and the approved list of sights includes a couple that I question, but it will be interesting to see how this progresses.

I wonder what their eight hour red dot course will be.

Major step in the right direction, I know last year I was talking to HPD SWAT about RDS pistols at some training we were doing there and let them coon finger mine. they loved it . Im NOT saying I had ANYTHING to do with this. I have seen DPS special units that are running RDS as well.

Given the perameters I’d either get an MOS and the Suarez MOS fix or a P226rx and the adaptor that lets you use an RMR.

I’m not LE and never have been so a question; Say one were to buy a P226rx and swap that slide for a purpose milled RMR slide; would anyone notice?

I'm not going to write any checks in anticipation of the contract.
