Default Most "ball like" Hollow Point

I have an older High power that runs fine on fmj, but chokes on both my carry loads. (HST, gold dot). Any suggestions for hp's that feed well in older un throated guns?

This, but also - if the gun chokes on Gold Dot ammo I wouldn't even consider carrying it, with any ammo. I'd either fix the feed issue, or relegate it to being a range-only gun. Why try to rely on something with marginal reliability? Even if you find another hollow point that it seems to feed OK, it's probably running right on the edge of not working, and minor changes in conditions could turn it into a jammomatic.

Also, most of the "defense" ammo with small hollow points (i.e. most ball-like) are pretty crappy performers. The Fiocchi and Magtech hollow points are a couple examples.

Very true yonderling, I shoot the gun well although it will never take the place of my glocks for edc. It's frustrating because it feeds ball 100%.

Can’t remember if they are still making the expanding full metal jacket anymore, orgininally built for states where hollow points were illegal. That may be an option

If you're worried about modifying the barrel, why not replace it with a BarSto? $240 as of today.

Remington golden saber 147gr or 124 gr +p both have an fmj profile and are good expanders.
The federal 9bp is very accurate and has a FMJ style profile as well however its track record for expansion is not as good.
The 9bple round was supposed to fix the expansion problems that the 9bp had.
