Default Alternative uses for The Heretic

Greetings from Pulau Sibu, Johor, Malaysia,

My buddy and I had our morning diving plans messed up due to a downed compressor at the dive shop... so, we sat around and cracked coconuts, drank the milk, and ate the meat. The best tool I had with me for doing this was.... The Heretic. And it actually worked really well!!

    1) De-husk the coconut.

    2) Use the tip of The Heretic to carve a hole where the blossom grew; use a stick or straw to punch through the meat.

    3) Drink up me hearties, yo ho!

    4) Use a rhythmic beat around the circumference of the coconut to crack the shell (kind of puts a new spin on cracking coconuts with this thing).

    5) Scrape out the meat.

    6) Enjoy!!!

I have carried my Heretic all over the US, SE Asia, and Germany and found many uses for it. Thanks, Gabe, for this great tool!!

    Default Gap In Ring

In the photos in this thread the large ring is solid, as it is in the photos at https://suarezinternational.com/suar...s-the-heretic/. In the video at that page there is a gap in the ring so that it will hang in a pocket or someplace similar. Do they now come with the gap, or is this a user mod?

    Thanks!

We had considered calling it THE COCONUT CRACKER...but reconsidered the marketing implications.

The gap is optional. Some want it...some don't. If you want a gap, I think the crew can cut one before shipping.

Would it be practical to have SI cut an oxygen bottle wrench slot into one of these? That would actually let me replace two or three things I lug around with me with a single tool.

Yes, I do understand that "practical" is not a synonym for "free".
