Default WHAT IS BEST IN A PERSONAL GUNFIGHTING LIGHT

And no...I don't have one in the pipes...but I wish somebody did.

    • Under 5" long and 1" width/thickness
    • LED with an accessory head for Incandescent (each has advantages)
    • Uses CR123 Batteries (no more than two)
    • Pocket Clip...but removable like on Spyderco Knives
    • Knurled or roughened body
    • And about 200 Lumens TOPS
    • Oh...and not made in some third world muffler shop.

Doesn't it have the silly variable output stuff?

Apparently the guys at VTAC agree with you and they still have the L4 readily available. 1 or 2 cell.

Correction- only the 1 cell “mini” is still available.

It has a click switch with single output. Eb1 I think is vatiable....they changed the switches from a light press to a heavy press activation.

Until the Tactician is available from somewhere other than Yeager, I’m using Streamlight’s ProTac 1L for a single cell, and the 2LX as a Two cell light. The “ten tap” programming can be set to high only, so everytime you push the switch you gets all the lumens all the time. So far, that’s my compromise. They’ve both held up well to EDC, the 1L has been EDC’d for two years, the 2LX is only a few months old. They are very affordable as well, at under $50. As an added bonus, the 2LX is “dual fuel”, using 2-123’s or 1-18650 rechargeable. The 2LX is 500 Lumens, you can get the 2L in 350Lumens, which I would have done if I’d have known.

I was just about to mention that. They are very bare bones but, their minimum is 415 lumens as far as I can tell.

I have 2 of the Fenix PD35 Tac. It uses
    18650 batteries which are rechargable
and they run for quite a while between
charges. It has a simple tail switch is
momentary or clickable for off & on.
The output adjust is a side button that
    toggles through:

    Turbo: 1000 Lumens (1 hr., 10 min.)
    High: 500 Lumens (2 hrs., 55 min.)
    Mid: 200 Lumens (8 hr. 30 min.)
    Low: 60 Lumens (29 hr., 15 min.)
    Eco: 8 Lumens (140 hr.)
    Strobe: 1000 Lumens

And it comes on at the setting
that last used. I usually have mine
set for 60 lumens & adjust if needed.

The body is about 1" the full lenght &
    it's 6.25" long.

I have tried a few others through the
years, but this one does everything I
    need with simple controls.

It's part of my EDC 365 gear.
