Id make the 716 my primary. Bring the 300 to learn exactly what you can get from it.

    Jon,

For us newbies to this type of training, what type of equipment (gun/rifle) set up do you suggest? I'm thinking minimum rifle needs, optics, etc. I looked on the course info page but didn't see any specifics.

AR15 in 5.56mm ( free float handguard a plus ) or AR10 in 308/7.62. Minimum of a 3x optic, but variable 3x9 or 4x12 is even better. I've never heard a student complain their scope was too powerful, but I have had students trying to use too much power when it wasn't needed or made target acquisition more difficult. I also see a bunch of 1x4, 1x5, and 1x6 optics. Research the Recce Rifle.

No idea if timing works on this one or not yet, but would a 12.5" 6.8 SBR with a 3-9x be up to the task?

I've used it on deer out to close to 200 (where I have it zeroed) but haven't had an opportunity to shoot it any farther.

No SBR would be my 1st choice past 200 yards if I had access to a carbine or rifle. It would be very interesting to see what it can do though.

Just looked at the primary arms 1-6 and 1-8 ACSS and a couple of videos on it. Something I'll definitely look at, especially for the price! Thanks.
