A study was done giving spiders various drugs to see how it would affect their ability to spin a web. The gave them meth, vote, heroin, etc. The most screwed up webs were spun on caffeine.

So caffeine is worse than heroin, methaphetamine, etc?

Or maybe spider brains differ in some serious ways from human brains?

Caffeine is healthy in moderation, but it is a relatively potent drug, there's no getting away from that.

I love coffee too much to give it up, but caffeine has started screwing with my sleep as I approach 30, so I've replaced everything but the morning coffee with decaf. Makes a difference in sleep quality.

Not constantly ingesting caffeine also makes it work better for you. If you're constantly ingesting caffeine, all it's doing is bringing you back to normal. You're not getting much of a performance benefit.
