Default AR Pistol / PDW Bag 3.0

So I've contributed to multiple threads on this and documented some of my journey to get to this set up. Here is my unicorn and finally I feel I have the comfort and Grayman kit to have my 8.5" 300BO AR with me more times and more places.

I'll start with a quick recap of my Gamut Plus and EDC Sling Bag. I love the Gamut Plus for a 3 day BOB or a good all round range bag where you have to trek a ways into a training facility or what have you. It was just too big for what I wanted as a discreet AR bag in the civilized metropolis full of hipsters, liberals, BLM and hadjis. Unfortunately, I have to endure the metropolis because I am a city mouse and that's where I make money and need access to an airport.... ok I digress.

The EDC sling bag, although the perfect size (capacity), the form factor was a bit awkward for my AR. The single strap made it a bear when you carry the AR + 3-4 mags for an extended length of time. You may say, get in better shape, but my issue was that it's only right hand fit and no way to switch sides.

Enter now the EDC Ready Pack. This seems to be the Goldilocks for a 8.5" AR with a Law Folder. I have all the same features of the Sling bag, only the top draw capability of the Gamut. I like to sit it in my car on commutes on the passenger side with the zipper open so that I can slide my hand in and pull it out. Vertx has a great zipper construction where it goes flush at the top, eliminating a "wall" at the top. I bought some cheapo mag holders with Velcro so I can mount mags in the intended EDC weapon area seemingly designed for off body pistol carry (that's for p*ssies who can't CCW a Glock, but available if you need to). The compartment has a stiff wall that is supported to your back. It has an easy to pull oversized zipper pull so you can access in dire circumstances (but not a defensive pistol because accessing a bag carry, you'd be dead). I think this is a very good gray TASI bag. Probably would fit Gabe's G17 PDW quite well with a folder. It's got a 19" interior compartment length.

If you are still reading this and want to try a EDC Sling bag, I have one for sale in Black, PM me.

ETA: it may appear as if I'm a Vertx slut...my selling point is the quick access compartment with copious Velcro so it's customizable. Plus the designs are appealing and not tactical in nature complemented with very high build quality.

Just got it today and brought t home from the office. It's the perfect backpack size that all laptop bags are, only it's a tad longer, which is how it accommodates the AR. My "professional" Tumi backpack is 17" in length. The size is comparable to most "normal" laptop bags from Targus, etc. Will be completely gray unless you know Vertx and you think like us... then if that's you, give me a nod

Nice set up. What mag pouche(s) are those?

They are a 3 unit Velcro back one from condor. I figured it's inboard so a super duty quality gear wasn't warranted.

If you want to shave ounces, you could get the Vertx tactigami gear... but they are some serious bucks for laser cut velcro...

Also, I'd be willing to bet that the standard Gamut will fit a 10.5" AR with a Law folder. It's specd to be 22" in interior height

Nice kit! I'm in the process of building my first AR pistol (finally!) and I had been looking for a means of inconspicuous transport or carry. Thanks for this, it looks like a solid set up. I'll be checking these bags out first.

One missing thing is all 3 bags side by side.... this I think would be extremely helpful.... so I will do it tonight when I get home.
