Today, after box drill/transition training, I qualified with 2 G17s and a backup G26. The 17s were bought used, one likely an old Everett PD gun with fading night sights and the other box stock, far as I can tell, with issue plastic sights as wide as the center scoring ring at 25 yards. I bought the G26 new and it has maybe 300 rounds through it. Now the fun begins, as I repair any deficiencies in sights and triggers. Sadly, red dots not approved. Yet.
These will be OK for duty carry-no malfunctions and I did well with them--but I'll continue carrying the 21 and 30s until the 9mms are dialed in.

I snuck the EPD gun into the box drill, too. It was a good test of my abilities today, after two days of pushing mowers, chopping brush, pullups and lifting the odd weight or two. I was suprised at how little recoil the 9 has compared to the .45, and I was surprised that I was surprised, if that makes sense.

    Reasons for the change:
    1. No factory or Magpul extended .45 mags. ETS wrote me that they would build them starting early 2017. They didn't. Since I'm a reasonably good shot, I'll go for more pills in the Pez: 20 in the gun, 63 on the belt, and 13 in the backup for 83, plus six and a reload for the roving sixgun. 108 should be enough to get me back to the patrol vehicle.
    2. It's easier to hang onto a 17 than a 21 while wearing gloves.
    3. The 17 feels more "alive" on the draw, even with a light mounted and 20 aboard.
    4. Not least, 9mm is now authorized for duty carry

I just hope I don't annoy any bears.

My G26 hadn’t seen the light of day for a quite some time, so took it for a ride.

Found a blade tech Nano for my P226 and fitted it for the RMR. Iím bad at keeping count but did dry presses until it was natural.

Langdon spurless hammer on my 92A1, which has a polished "D" spring, a short Wilson steel trigger and a TLR-S with an M&P remote.

    Don't tell Gabe....

P.S.: That short trigger is actually too short, and will be replaced with a steel standard length, and I'm looking at a 13# trigger spring, steel recoil spring guide and skinny grips after I accumulate my Stakeout fund.

Patterened 870HD with Fed FC & Rem low recoil, both 9 pellet 00. I was just curious to see how viable each was for close range hostage rescue. I'm not LEO,just really curious, especially after seeing SLC shooting and the one from So. Cal.

Coyote hunting today. While mowing I saw a coyote at the edge of the forest, hopped of mower, drew, and took 2 shots with the G19 at about 75 yards. Not sure if I got it, but on the first shot it moved funny when turning around to make a run for it. I gave chase for about 150 yards but didn’t see anything. Went back for 6920 and went deeper in to the woods looking. But no luck. Had lunch after.
