An ameircan bulldog I think. Smaller teeth strongly suggest that.

A question from Keith on American Bulldogs:
What AB books do you have?
    Answer from Heather
I've got shelves upon shelves of history books. World history. Very few on dog history and not a single one on ABs. Learn world history and the movement of man around the globe. THAT is where you'll find the real history of dogs and dog breeds. Breed specific history books are jammed full of fairy tales, BS and flat out lies told for the selling of pups and dogs of that breeds top breeders.
    Answer from James
Same here Heather. History represents the bulk of my library along with Art and Archeology.

Large Crocodylia versus dogs. A few days ago a woman walking her two dogs in FL was eaten by a 12 ft plus alligator and one of her dogs was injured. So besides presenting a danger to dogs, the gators and crocs are also dangerous to people.
Anyone for classes in defense against crocodylia.

Nile crocodiles have been identified by DNA from the everglades of FL.

A video started popping up on FB a few days ago of a smaller (cocker spaniel maybe) dog that apparently chased away the same local pond gator every day for years. Well one day the gator was done with that and with a whole crowd of people cheering the dog on he gets chomped and pulled under.

Moral of the story; don’t let your dog chase gators. (Though I understand that living in gator country, you can’t prevent everything)

The dog may have been a terrier, but anyway on the Adelaide River in Australia it was chasing a salt water crocodile back into the water for many years.
edit. In this video is the little dog that chased the croc.

While not legal it is a most unwise choice to allow a large gator to frequent areas where you live or spend time at. At night with a light their eyes are very visible and a .22 in the eye is not good for their health.
