These are afghans that love to fight mastiff type dogs. I do not agree with
dog fighting, but still the topic is interesting. In the US now days while illegal it is
the smaller pitbull which is related to these mastiffs that are are illegally fought.
This is a thread for warrior dogs and these are warrior dogs even if I do not approve
of what is being done and also of the people that are doing it. This 'sport' predates
by many years the change from being pagans to being muslims for these people. These dogs were
originally guardians of the homestead and of the live stock from two and 4-legged
predators. Now some of these are dedicated to dog fighting.
Adnan Hamdani this is afghanistan's pic .. They r fond of fighting dogs same as we r
fond of their koochi dogs , cz real brave fighting boohlis u just can get 4m our province
punjab in pakistan. The result of boohli breed here is always excellent .. I know some
afghan frnds who ask us to provide them boohlis in exchange with their koochis. And
They cross boohlis with koochis and use them to fight
These dogs were introduced in large numbers by pagans fleeing the huns
in the 5th century into the Roman empire bt the Alani tribes. The Spanish call
these dogs still to this day Alanos and the French Alaunts. All mastiffs and true bulldogs of the USA
are descended from these alani barbarian dogs of the 5th century AD.

    Plott Hound

North Carolina designated the plott hound as the official state dog in 1989.
Developed in the mountains of North Carolina by German immigrant

The poster of these pictrues is from Albania. The Turks at one time ruled the Balkans and also the Albanians may have come from asia also in the distant past. The post is one of the asian dogs and many of these breeds whether Kangral or Anatolian Shepherd or others (Ovcharka. Alabai, etc ) are all the same general type of dog and serve the same function. They are all big long haired guardian dogs. The poster did not list a breed name that I caught. It is one of many similar pictures posted on the Alaunt and Alano Infomration Page a closed group https://www.facebook.com/groups/637447839620307/
These large dogs are being bred to larger and likely are being mixed to get larger sizes. They arr\e being sold to urban folk mostly these days. .

Thanks for the info. Brad Thor wrote about the Caucasian ovcharka in his Scot Harvath books. I would love to have one or five. Great looking bears, I mean dogs.
