Recently on a program on the newly introduced wolves and livestock it was stated that the stockmen were running 4 great Pyrenees dogs per wolf. One dog did not stand a chance. Not legal but a large drone equipped with NV and some sort of controlled gun would be also be useful as a backup to the dogs. I figure my small pack in florida can stand up to the new super coyotes enough so that they will stay away. A 100 lb wolf is a different story for sure.

Wolves are not stupid, they don't care about the wolf version of machismo unless they're courting or defending their alpha status, and they don't want a fair fight. A lone wolf may be hungry, sick, hurt, aging or a combination of these. If it's fighting off four big dogs for carrion or its kill, it's because it's desperate. It doesn't want to get hurt, but it can't afford to lose the kill. If it does, it'll starve, or its cubs will.

I expect the superyotes are pretty smart, too. Why risk injury from your wrecking crew when there are cats and chickens for the taking just down the road?

The coyotes are living very well on their own without needing protection from the authorities.
I hope the black bears are smart also and stay away.

Now there's a bruiser. If he's hungry for fish, looks like a shark fin slipping through the water off his 3:00. Or maybe it's Nessie.

My dog is possibly touched in the head, and pretty useless except to be loved on, but he doesn't piss in the house and he lets me sleep when I sleep, and those two things are not to be over-rated! He also leaves my flock alone, gets along with other dogs, the cat, and hates armadillos. Those are major pluses!

He is a collie/shephered mix, 1.5 years old or so. Got him from the shelter.

    Playing in my creek:

Trying to convince my girlfriend that he is a good dog:

    Acting all trustworthy n stuff.

    Being calm in the house:

    Being full of derp:

I'd like to let him roam more, but when he decided to go to the neighbor's house and destroy their dog's bed and a pair of shoes on their porch, he bought himself a 75ft tether.
