Some of y'all might remember Angel. I got these from her human this weekend. Angel was found by a local in ditch a walking skeleton years ago, just like Max. Her tongue had been cut off and the vet wanted to put her down. We brought her home and got her better ourselves. Once healthy she was spayed went through service dog training and placed with a wounded combat Veteran. She's been there since living the good life.

Evil people exist. Evil dogs are rare.
You can't tell much from two photos, but I see a calm, beautiful creature.
    How does she drink?

I did wonder about that, but do not know. I only know the pictures and story. I have been corresponding with and reading this lady's posts for years; my dogs ancestry with one exception are totally off of dogs that she or her family bred. One of my dogs has a grandmother from Alabama. Otherwise all of this is in Georgia. I am in NWFL.
There are naughty dogs for sure.

Here is angel wa she was found.

Here is Angel the day the girl found her. The first 2 pics are when and where she found her, down some dirt road trying to find shade in a ditch. The rest of the pics are of her life after this.

The vet said she couldn't survive without that much of her tongue not to mention her condition. She never acted sick or weak. Nothing but happy and a huge will to live. Death never crossed her mind so I refused the vets offer to put her down.

    It was asked?
How does she drink water, was her tongue reattached?
    Answer
I'm honestly not sure how she does it. The entire end of it, about 3 inches, was gone. But she figured it out.

I would probably use a deep and wide bowl or bucket for her so she could get her snout in... that would probably be my first idea should I come across a situation like that.
